  • The company produces atmospheric water generators (AWGs) that turn air into clean drinking water using sustainable and self-sufficient technologies.
  • It plans to accelerate the development of its new product, “Kumulus Box,” and strengthen its presence in France, Spain, and Tunisia, with a strong focus on the Saudi market.

Tunisian agri-tech startup Kumulus Water has announced that it raised $3.5 million in a Seed funding round, with participation from several investors including Flat6Labs, Khalys Venture, Plus VC, and Bpifrance.

The company specializes in developing atmospheric water generators (AWGs)—devices capable of transforming air into clean, safe drinking water. These systems offer a decentralized and sustainable solution to water scarcity, especially in regions with poor infrastructure or severe drought.

Kumulus Water plans to use the funding to accelerate the development of its new product, “Kumulus Box,” a high-efficiency production line designed for industrial and community use. It also aims to expand its presence in France, Spain, and Tunisia, with a particular focus on growth in Saudi Arabia—a promising market with urgent demand for sustainable water solutions.

The technology behind the water generators involves drawing ambient air through an upper intake, filtering out impurities, and then cooling and condensing the air to mimic natural dew formation, resulting in drinkable water.

The system is fully autonomous and can be remotely monitored and controlled via mobile or web applications, enabling users to track water production, receive maintenance alerts, and adjust settings based on local weather conditions.

Each generator produces between 20 to 30 liters of drinking water per day and can operate using electricity or solar energy. They are currently in use at schools, hotels, and communities across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and are also well-suited for remote sites and temporary camps.
