UK-based Paragraf, a technology company specializing in electronics, announced a $35 million investment from Mubadala Investment Company, as part of a total $55 million funding round. Under the deal, Mubadala acquired a 12.8% stake in the company.

As part of its global expansion strategy, Paragraf plans to open new branches in the Middle East, China, and the United States, while scaling up its production capacity to meet the needs of major commercial markets.

The company develops graphene-based semiconductors, which feature unique properties enabling the production of smaller, faster, and more energy-efficient devices compared to traditional silicon-based chips.

This technology paves the way for wide-ranging applications, including quantum computing, electric vehicles, energy storage, and chemical and medical sensors—such as early disease detection and innovative cancer treatments.

The investment comes after a challenging period for the company, during which it faced the risk of shutdown due to a six-month delay caused by a UK government national security review. The new funding has now secured its path toward global expansion.
