Flat6Labs has announced a new investment in Green Desert Technologies, a Saudi-based biotech startup, through its Startup Seed Fund as part of Cycle 5 of the Riyadh Seed Program.
Founded by Abdulmajeed Hashem, Omar Hashem, and Ashley Pursglove, Green Desert Technologies is focused on optimizing bio-manufacturing, such as algae cultivation, to tackle critical challenges in food security, sustainability, and biotechnology—particularly within arid desert climates.
Abdulmajeed Hashem, Founder & CEO, stated:
“This investment is another step forward in our mission to turn harsh desert climates into sources of prosperity and abundance—through technology. We’re grateful to have Flat6Labs backing that vision.”
The company is also a graduate of the Sunbula Program – 2024 cohort, an initiative dedicated to supporting startups innovating in the agri-tech and food systems sectors.
