Water Harvesting Inc (WaHa), a U.S.-based company specializing in advanced water generation technologies, has raised $8 million in a Series A-1 funding round. The round aims to restructure ownership, settle outstanding debts, and support the company’s commercial expansion into Gulf markets.
The round was led by Chairman Mike Philips and board member Christian Theriault, with participation from notable investors including Berkeley Catalyst Fund, Anthropocene Institute, Vestafund, and Mitsui Mining & Smelting.
WaHa will utilize the funds to simplify its equity structure, accelerate its go-to-market strategy, and prepare for a future funding round. The company is also focused on converting active sales opportunities across the UAE and broader GCC region.
Since 2023, WaHa has deployed its air-to-water generation systems in diverse environments, including West Texas, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, and Stockholm, showcasing its technology’s adaptability to various climatic conditions.
The company is currently conducting field trials at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi to evaluate the performance of its technology under extreme desert conditions. It also plans to unveil its first commercial unit, the “WaHa Vaporator,” at the WETEX exhibition in Dubai in September 2025.
With rising concerns over water scarcity and sustainability, WaHa aims to position itself as a key enabler of climate-resilient water solutions across arid regions.
