Saudi IT firm MIS exits its investment in US-based AI company Anthropic for $9.33M

  • Al Moammar Information Systems (MIS) exits its investment in US AI firm Anthropic, earning a $4.26M profit.
  • The $9.33M divestment will be reflected in MIS’s Q2 2025 financial results, supporting its broader AI investment strategy.
  • The company initially invested $5M in Anthropic during its Series D round as part of a SAR 40M global AI portfolio.

Saudi-listed Al Moammar Information Systems (MIS) has announced its full divestment from US artificial intelligence firm Anthropic, in a deal valued at $9.33 million.

The transaction generated a profit of $4.26 million, which MIS confirmed will be reflected in its financial results for Q2 2025.

This move aligns with MIS’s broader strategy to build a global investment portfolio focused on high-growth AI companies, aimed at diversifying revenue streams and boosting long-term returns. The company had initially allocated SAR 40 million to fund this initiative through self-financing.

MIS originally invested $5 million in Anthropic last year as part of the company’s Series D funding round.

The exit reflects MIS’s commitment to seizing strategic opportunities in the global tech and AI space, as the company continues to align its growth with transformative innovation trends worldwide.
