Boxy Closes $1.5M Pre-Seed Round to Bridge Market Gaps in Iraq

  • Boxy Closes $1.5M Pre-Seed Round Led by EQIQ
  • The funding round aims to support digital ventures and bridge critical market gaps in Iraq

Iraq-based e-commerce platform Boxy has successfully closed a $1.5 million Pre-Seed funding round, led by EQIQ, to support the development of digital infrastructure and address market inefficiencies in Iraq.

Investment Details

The round aims to support early-stage digital ventures that tackle infrastructure challenges and bridge key gaps in the Iraqi market.

The investment is part of EQIQ’s broader strategy to back local innovation, enable digital transformation across essential sectors in Iraq, and empower startups to deliver tech-enabled solutions that bring meaningful impact to the business environment.

Funding Objectives

This new capital injection will accelerate the development of Boxy’s technology platform and enable the expansion of its operations across key regions in Iraq — especially Baghdad and other major cities — where demand for e-commerce services is growing rapidly, in line with a shift in consumer behavior toward online shopping.

Boxy offers an innovative solution to the fragmented and complex delivery landscape in Iraq, where merchants often struggle to coordinate with multiple shipping providers and lack integrated tools to manage orders efficiently.

The platform introduces a unified interface for merchants, allowing them to easily manage their shipping processes by connecting to a wide network of local delivery companies.

One of Boxy’s core features is an AI-powered matching engine that evaluates delivery providers based on real-time performance metrics such as timeliness and customer ratings.

This engine automatically recommends the best delivery option for each order, reducing the onboarding and setup time from weeks to just a few hours.

About Boxy

The company focuses on delivering data-driven logistics solutions that empower businesses to make informed shipping decisions, enhance the customer experience, and boost the overall efficiency of Iraq’s supply chain ecosystem.
